With a blend of ancient culture and modern ideas, they give you jaw-dropping performances. Even the stage is decorated magnificently here. Which will make you feel you are attending a festival in Thailand rather than a show in Phuket.

And at that stage, the performers will blow your mind with their acts, which have-

  • Different storytellings
  • Music & dance performance
  • Lip sinking
  • Comedic skits

They have three shows in a day, and you can choose the one that suits your plan.

Wat Chalong

It doesn’t matter where you go. Even in Thailand, a country famous for its clubs, bars, and party nightlife, you may end up at a temple when going with your family.

Wat Chalong
Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong, also known as Wat Chaitararam, is a primary historical site and a landmark in Phuket, constructed at the beginning of the 19th century. This is a pretty beautiful temple, and when you are here, wander through the peaceful gardens and smell the fresh fragrance of the blossoms.

This temple is devoted to two monks (Luang Pho Chaem & Luang Cho Chuang) as they guided the locals in the time of Chinese tin miners.

And there are a few things you need to follow when you are going to this temple –

  • Avoid revealing clothes (cover your shoulders and knees)
  • Don’t wear footwear when going inside
  • Have your phone on silent mode
  • Don’t shout inside
  • Respect the temple, and don’t shoot inside

Tiger Kingdom

Anyone going to Thailand and coming back without a photo of themselves standing with a tiger is unseen in history. If anyone in your family is scared, you should prank them and take them to the Tiger Kingdom

 Tiger Kingdom
Tiger Kingdom

There is nothing to be scared of, and the tigers don’t hurt anyone as long as you don’t hurt or disturb them. You might have doubts about whether the animals are tortured into that training. No! This place is a tiger welfare, and they are not sedated or even chained.

They are taken care of by humans, and the bond helps them to see humans with no aggravation or even as a threat. And when you are here, you play with them, take pictures, buy souvenirs, and eat at the food stalls.

  • Time: 09:00 am – 05:30 pm
  • Cost: Starts from approximately 4,000 INR

Chillva Market

If you are taking your whole family to Phuket or even just a few, it doesn’t matter when it comes to shopping. Everyone loves shopping, and even those who say, “I hate shopping”, always have something to buy when shopping.

Chillva Market

The Chillva Market is near the Old Town Phuket, where you will get things that meet everyone’s requirements at a cheaper cost.

And if you’re shopping in bulk, please consider purchasing from here, as you’ll find quality slippers and shoes at 300 INR and other items for as low as 100 INR.

And when you consider other markets, they are mostly crowded, but here it is calm, well-organised, and at times even peaceful. And shockingly, this is a local market that offers an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

Let me tell you what else you can do here –

  • See the cool graffiti wall and take pictures

  • Get a tattoo in studios
  • Enjoy the live music
  • Sit at the bar on the first floor and get a fantastic view of the glowing street

This place is a massive 12 acres and inhabited by more than 1,000 birds. And I am not going to name all 1,000 birds; that’s for you to see and be amazed.

However, there are rare species, such as the African Crowned Crane, Nicobar Pigeons, Hornbills, and Ostriches, which can be seen here.

You will be surprised to see many birds doing tricks, spelling words, and even solving puzzles. And to see everything, it will take you 3 to 4 hours, but with so many interesting things, it will only feel like an hour.

 Phuket Elephant Sanctuary
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary

The story behind why this Sanctuary was founded will definitely make you go here. Montri Todtane is the founder and grew up in a village with no electricity. He was sent to Bangkok to study sales and marketing.

Later in the year 2010, he joined the elephant tourism industry and bought elephants. Sadly, one of his elephant names, Dawrerng, died when he sold her to another camp. And these kinds of incidents were followed by other elephants. And he saw a lot of tragedy here. He couldn’t do anything.

Such incidents inspired him to establish this sanctuary, and he now takes care of each of the elephants with undivided attention. Taking your family members here will definitely teach them empathy, care, and love for all the living on earth.

Time: 09:00 am – 05:00 pm

Trick Eye Museum

This 3D art gallery uses optical illusions to place you inside paintings and scenes, making you look like you’re escaping a shark, hanging from a rope bridge, or flying on a magic carpet. Interesting right?

It’s a fun spot, great for both rainy and sunny days. You’ll leave with dozens of hilarious photos and unforgettable moments.

Places to Visit in Phuket for Solo Travellers

Yes! Solo travellers think Thailand is their paradise, so they must know what to do to keep up the vibe. So you better not miss out on the amazing things you can do when in Phuket.

Bangla Road for Nightlife

Party till the sunrise! Yes, when you’re with your friends, making the best memories, Bangala Road helps make that happen. With various nightlife activities here, you will not know when the sky turns to light.

Bangla Road for Nightlife
Bangla Road for Nightlife

If you walk on Bangla Road, you will eventually end up at Patong Beach. After sunset, this place becomes extremely crowded, so no vehicles can enter the street, and it is reserved only for pedestrians.

With so many bars lined up, you can do the best club hopping here. And if you are a wild and energetic solo traveller, you will find so many like-minded people on this road.

The loud music here never lets you go drowsy. And the main reason why this road is so much hyped is that there are go-go bars. These are adult-themed bars where you can see women dressed up sexually and doing pole dancing.

Siam Niramit Phuket

Going to Phuket solo? I know we all lack places where you can not feel loneliness. And Siam Nirmit Phuket gives you exactly that with their mind-blowing cultural performances.

 Siam Niramit Phuket

I know that when I say ‘cultural,’ you think this is boring. Let me prove you wrong. When you go alone here, you don’t need a partner to accompany you to do any activities. And it’s a perfect time to know the culture with no disturbance.

Not just cultural, here you can do many activities like-

  • Watching the Siam Niramit Show
  • Eating Thai food
  • Boat ride
  • Do a few steps of traditional dance
  • Watch shadow puppetry
  • Photoshoot at North Style Umbrella
  • Watch bamboo tap dance in the courtyard
  • Also, feed elephants

Time: The performance starts at 08:30 pm (The duration of the show is 4 – 4.5 hours)

Karon Viewpoint

Coming all the way to the south of Phuket, the most visited spot by many tourists. It can be packed with people, but the viewpoint still compromises on the beauty it offers you.

Karon Viewpoint
Karon Viewpoint

Just take your backpack and head to Mueang Phuket District, 13 km from Patong Beach. And you will get a panoramic view of three wonderful places: Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Karon beaches.

I say, don’t miss out on this place to take some of the best photos. And there are Chopol’s Plantation Bar and Restaurant and Heaven Rooftop Restaurant, giving you the best food with a view.

You can sit on the terrace and get a view of three bays, and get the perfect sunset with a drink in your hand.

Patong Beach

Patong Beach is the one place where every solo traveller or first-time visitor goes. It’s a happening place, even in the morning and at night.

Patong Beach
Patong Beach

The sole reason could be that Bangla Road is located on Patong Beach. And there, the bars are lined up to offer you one of the best entertainment experiences with loud music and even adult shows.

There are numerous hostels on the beach where solo travellers congregate. The facility also curates activities to make everyone feel included, allowing you to make many friends with no hard effort. Plus, you get the best water activities, and the special is parasailing.

Sirinat National Park

Sirinat National Park is ideal for nature enthusiasts and is situated near Phuket International Airport. It has both marine and land ecosystems, featuring coral reefs, lush landscapes, diverse bird species, sea turtle nesting sites, and mangrove forests.

 Sirinat National Park
Sirinat National Park

If you want a calm day filled with activities, definitely come here. You can find a more untouched side of Phuket, as many prefer not to have their Thailand trip in a minimalist setting or engage in eco-tourism. But this is a sign you should do that.

Things to Do:

  • Discover the mangrove forest through kayaking
  • Go to Hat Nai Yang Beach for picnics or beach sports
  • Go camping in the park
  • Snorkel in the coral reefs of Hat Mai Khao
  • At Hat Nai Yang, you can do scuba diving & kite surfing.

Nightclubs in Phuket

Phuket’s nightlife makes your trip legendary. And especially the whole of Thailand gives you the best party life. And if you are on an island that attracts a lot of solo travellers, you must not miss the clubs where the parties are wild.

 Nightclubs in Phuket
Nightclubs in Phuket

And travelling alone may be exciting, but the hard truth can turn dull at any moment. When that moment comes, don’t think for a second, just hop into any of the clubs. And that will turn out to be the best thing you’ve ever done in Phuket.

Because these are the places where unexpected things happen, like a sad day turning into the most fun one. Or even joining a random group and making friends.

So, for that, you should know some of the best clubs you can go to in Phuket-

  • Illuzion Phuket (The most popular one)
  • Flame Phuket Town – Restaurant & Nightclub (Best part with delicious food)
  • Glimpse Bar & Bistro Phuket (Hidden gem)

Freedom Beach

Solo travelling is not what we typically imagine, such as a person roaming around in the sun with a huge backpack. Let’s break that conventional ideal.

 Freedom Beach
Freedom Beach

Different people want different things, and each day we want something different from the previous day, especially on a vacation. When you are tired of hanging around the clubs, you can choose Freedom Beach.

This is one of Phuket’s most secluded and stunning beaches, and you can only access it by boat. If you want to escape the crowd and enjoy nature’s pristine beauty, this beach offers peace and picture-perfect scenery.

Things you can do here-

  • Sunbathe on the powdery white sand
  • Snorkel in crystal-clear water
  • Hike the jungle trail if you’re feeling adventurous

Muay Thai Boxing

When travelling to countries, sports are often the least popular tourist attraction. However, in Thailand, Muay Thai Boxing is most enjoyed by travellers, and watching a fight is a cultural experience that’s also thrilling.

 Muay Thai Boxing
Muay Thai Boxing

These intense fights showcase strength, tradition, and local pride. And it is Thailand’s national sport, which occasionally includes tourists who compete if interested.

To witness Thailand’s national sport up close, feel the adrenaline of the crowd, and understand the fighter’s discipline.

I am sure if you are in Phuket, you can see several people selling tickets, and you can easily get one. And watch the sport close up and feel the adrenaline of the crowd as everyone cheers for the win.

Places to Visit in Phuket for Couples

Going to Phuket for a honeymoon or even as a romantic escape, you will get one of the best rollercoaster adventures. From beach night stays to hopping into late-night parties, you get to experience everything with your partner.

Couple’s Spa

If you are a couple going to Phuket, not getting a massage done together is a regret. So, this is your sign to not miss out on the best things to do in Phuket, the spa day with your partner.

Couple’s Spa
Couple’s Spa

Thailand is renowned for its traditional Thai massages. However, you should be aware that there are both good and bad spa treatments. And you can find them in any resort.

Things to remember when going to a spa

  • Avoid going to crowded spa centres.
  • Only go to well-known spas, and if they have Google reviews, read them.
  • There are adult spa massages available; you can opt-out if you’re not interested. This usually involves sexual activities.
  • You need to enquire initially to know what kind of service is offered.

Phang Nga Bay Dinner Cruise

Phang Nga Bay has all the beauty of Phuket, and that’s why all the romantic dates happen here. Many dinner cruise trips are happening exclusively for this place, and they are sometimes only for adults, and it’s the best thing to do in Phuket for a couple.

 Phang Nga Bay Dinner Cruise

The most luxurious and memorable dinner date you will ever have is here. Sail through the evening with the best sunset and sky views. Once you book the cruise and board, you will feel the party getting started.

A welcome drink will be served, accompanied by a live DJ party featuring high-quality sound systems and lighting to create an exciting atmosphere.

And you will not just be getting one cuisine; the buffet usually contains Thai, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and many more.

Promthep Cape

Located south of Phuket, you can reach the spot 20 km from Phuket town. And if you are staying near Raiwai Beach, it is just 2 km away.

 Promthep Cape
Promthep Cape

On a slow, beautiful evening, this is the right choice if you are looking for a romantic place for couples. You can hold hands, walk down towards the cliffs, and see the eye-locking views.

The path is not very smooth, so go with your comfortable shoes and water to stay hydrated, as it will be a short trek. There are also food and souvenir shops near the viewpoint, and the parking is easy.

Things to Do in Promthep Cape-

It’s just a huge rocky headland that gives us the best sunset. And that’s what everyone knows, but apart from that, there are things you can do, and let’s see that.

  • An excellent photoshoot spot
  • Explore the Promthep Cape Lighthouse Museum
  • Visit the elephant shrine
  • Go for a short hike
  • See the Sunset
  • Eat snacks and food after walking around.

Tip: As this is the most iconic viewpoint in Phuket, there will be a rush during sunset time. So, you must arrive early and come back late to avoid the crowd.

Thai Cooking Classes

One of the most romantic things to do in Phuket for couples is to take a cooking class. For the number of days you stayed in Phuket, you would have eaten some of the yummy Thai dishes in every corner you turned.

 Thai Cooking Classes
Thai Cooking Classes

But do you know, you can cook that dish and learn some of the tricks when you come back to India. As a couple or even as a solo traveller, this is one of the cultural things you can do.

And some even take you to the shop for ingredients in the local market, instead of just doing the cooking part. By this, you will get to know the local people in the markets and also gain the root of culinary knowledge.

Here are some of the classes you can join –

Keemala Phuket Resort for a Romantic Stay

Keemala Phuket Resort is the best place to visit in Phuket for couples, for a dreamy getaway from all the noise of central Phuket or any of the screaming nightlife places.

Old Phuket Town
Old Phuket Town

And while you are here, you should not miss out on taking a bunch of photos near cute buildings and in these streets. You can visit the temples and shrines and also learn a lot about Sino-Portuguese architecture.

This place is also a shopping street but with high-end stores. The cost will be high compared to other local markets. But you will get the product that’s worth the cost.

By night time, the whole street is magically lit up with 100s of food stalls in the centre of the road. And some food is unique and creatively shaped, especially the desserts.

Unlike handcrafted products or clothes, the food cost with the vendors will be much cheaper. You can even get some food items for less than 200 rupees.

Mai Khao Beach

In the north of Phuket, Mai Khao sits with no disturbance from the buzzing crowd. The place is still undeveloped, so you will not find any fancy bars and nightclubs for a party vibe.

Mai Khao Beach
Mai Khao Beach

Mai Khao Beach is an undisturbed beach from the noisy tourism that is usually in the central part of Phuket. That’s why the areas around this beach lack significant infrastructure, such as high-end rooftop bars and clubs.

But this is heaven if you are looking for a nature-filled life. As this place is more rural, it doesn’t attract many tourists, and that’s why the food here is very authentic. Like, not everyone likes trendy places, mainly for a honeymoon or just a random romantic getaway.

A secluded place like this can be very soothing and makes it one of the perfect places to visit in Phuket for couples. So, stay in some of the best resorts like the Maikhao Palm Beach Resort or the SALA Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort for a comfortable and luxurious stay in Phuket.

And a few of the main attractions around the Mai Khao are –

  • Thrilling experience seeing flights depart and land very close.
  • For fun water activities, go to Splash Jungle Waterpark
  • A slow evening walk on Sarasin Bridge for sunset
  • Stop at Turtle Village for shopping
  • Go to the Soi Dog Foundation and support the animal shelter.

Every parent’s doubt: Is Thailand suitable for kids? It is one hundred per cent. International trips can be expensive, shocking, and even comparable to domestic trips.

However, Thailand is very affordable when planning to take a large family. And, of course, it’s also the best for kids to make unforgettable memories.

Island Tours from Phuket

When you are going to Phuket, just don’t spend your time in night markets or the hyped bars and clubs. You will only get a chance to experience or even go to Phuket once, so try to go to nearby islands as well.

Banana Beach

In search of trendy Instagram-worthy spots, we always miss out on the gem. In that list, Banana Beach is almost not visited by many. And if you are looking for something soul-filling, it’s the best place to visit in Phuket.

 Banana Beach
Banana Beach

This beach is situated on a coral island and is an untouched beauty. Most of the travellers are only introduced to some of the mainstream beaches in Phuket.

But you can have a quieter place with your entire family and do some of the cool water activities like –

  • Parasailing
  • Banana boat ride
  • Kayaking
  • Snorkelling
  • Scuba diving

James Bond Island

Visiting James Bond Island is on everyone’s list, especially if you are a fan of the classic 007 (James Bond movies). And we all know there is one uncle or aunt in our group who keeps watching that movie, even if there is a 50th sequel, will not complete on visiting this island.

James Bond Island
James Bond Island

This island is a famous and popular tourist attraction just for the rock spire, which appears in the movie “The Man with the Golden Gun.”

But is it worth visiting? Yes, if you are a movie geek and do it for satisfaction. Not a fan, but still ended up here? You can still enjoy many water activities, such as sailing, kayaking, and swimming.

Phi Phi Island

If you are a Leanadio DiCaprio fan, I know that Phi Phi Island is already on the list. Yes! The movie “The Beach” was filmed in this location.

 Phi Phi Island
Phi Phi Island

And it’s not actually on Phuket, you need to take a 45-minute speedboat ride. Alternatively, for an affordable transfer, consider taking a ferry that will take you in approximately 2 hours.

Instead of just bar hopping or just sitting on the crowded beach of Patong, go to this island for a complete nature experience.

Can I take my family to Phuket?

I would say any country is suitable for a family only if you know the right place. So if you’re going with family and taking your kids, avoid Bangla Road in Patong Beach or any adult nightclubs,

These places usually have obscene activities and shows on the road, which can disturb your kids. Always research before visiting a particular place.
