Best Time to Visit Phu Quoc

If you are not going to the country during a suitable time, the whole trip will mess up. Vietnam, with its unpredictable weather, a few minutes of research on knowing the right time to visit Phu Quoc can help you a lot. There are two seasons: The Dry and the Wet.

Dry Season

It is from November to April, and it’s the peak time for tourism. And being in Phu Quoc during this time is great for all the theme parks, zoo safari tours, or just sunbathing on the beach.

However, Vietnam being an affordable destination, the cost can be slightly higher as there are more crowd. Which also means you need to book your accommodations and flights much earlier.

Wet Season

From the months of May to October, Vietnam is much quieter from tourism but a bit loaded with its wind and rain. However, the cost is much lower than the dry season, making it perfect to stay in the country for a longer duration.

Actually, you can do all the activities that you do for a dry reason. It is just that the climate will be chilly and drizzling most of the time. When it rains, you can choose cafe hopping, indoor farming experiences, and visit the famous Phu Quoc Prison.

How to Go to Phu Quoc: Flight Options (With Visa & Without Visa)

Majorly, you can reach Phu Quoc by flight, but there is a ferry option also. Let me explain both to you so you can reach Phu Quoc without confusion.

By Flight

When it comes to taking a flight to Phu Quoc, there are options. You can land directly in Phu Quoc or land in any of the cities in Vietnam and explore everything.

With a Visa

Getting a Vietnam visa is necessary to enter the country. So, apart from Phu Quoc, if you are visiting other cities in Vietnam, it is mandatory to take a visa.

If you have a visa, you can take a flight to Hanoi, Da Nang, or Ho Chi Minh and explore all the cities, then go to Phu Quoc or vice versa.

Without a Visa

Even though Phu Quoc is a part of Vietnam, you don’t need a visa to go to this Island. But the trick is, you should only visit the island and no other cities in Vietnam after that.

If your trip is very much structured and you are sure you are only visiting Phu Quoc, then take a flight that stops at Bangkok or Thailand and lands in Phu Quoc.

By Ferry

If you are staying on the island for a longer duration, you can very well experience the ferry ride. If you are in Ho Chi Minh or any part of Vietnam, come to Rach Gia and ride to Phu.

From there, you will get ferries to Phu Quoc and can reach there in two hours. There are different platforms to book your ferry, but you can always ask your travel agents to arrange a better one for you.

Cost: Approx 1,200 INR for one-way ride.

Travel within Phu Quoc
