Did you know that in Phu Quoc, some streets and beaches have been beautifully created to beautify the island’s charm, and the things to do in Phu Quoc will be an unforgettable experience for tourists.

This island is famously known for its pristine streets, white sandy beaches, amusement parks, the largest cable car ride, and so many other things to keep you amazed.

Any destination you visit, the number of days you stay there varies according to your budget, work schedule, kids’ school holidays and the number of attractions in that city.

Similar to that, in Phu Quoc, you can stay for just 3 nights to get a touristy experience or spend 3 weeks or more to immerse yourself in the city and culture.

Phu Quoc can be divided into three main parts: the north, central, and southern parts. Understanding a city like this makes your exploration an easy venture. In this blog, I’ll talk about things to do and places to visit in Phu Quoc, Vietnam.

All you have to do is take notes so you don’t miss out on important details, like the best time to visit certain places, where to stay, costs, and the best beaches, among others.

Things to Do in North Phu Quoc

The northern part is where most of the fun is. That doesn’t mean the other part has nothing to do. Here, you can do the major touristy things and call it a well-spent trip. But knowing where to stay can save a lot of travel time when you’re in Phu Quoc.

Where to Stay in North Phu Quoc?
  • Bai Dai Beach: For a quicker trip to VinWonders and VinSafari, stay here.
  • Ong Lang Beach: Budget-friendly accommodations and a quiet beach life.

If you think you don’t really have to stay near a tourist attraction, then you can pick Ong Land Beach, which is just 16 km down the Bai Dai Beach. There won’t be much traffic in Phu Quoc, unlike other main Vietnamese cities, so you can take a cab or rent a motorbike to drive around.

So let’s see some of the best things to do here-

VinWonders

VinWonders is the most anticipated trip to Phu Quoc. From 5-year-olds to 50-year-olds, everyone loves it. VinWonders, being the top-ranked theme park in Asia, awakens the kid in everyone.

You can book your tickets on their official website by selecting the package you want. You can also get help from a travel agent to take care of this, with no stress.

If you’re going here, be sure to carry a hat, sunscreen, or anything to protect you from the sun. Don’t just think of going during a non-sunny season, because there will be unpredictable rain and thunderstorms.

So the best months would be November to April, when you can enjoy the outdoors without being drenched in rain.

Vinpearl is Divided Into Two Parts
  • Open Zoo: A Large area with no gates. It’s completely safe to approach animals, but don’t disturb them.
  • Safari Park: Here, it’s definitely a wild experience, allowing you to see some of the unique birds and rare wild animals.

For any first-time travellers, the Central Part is the best place to stay. If your trip is only planned in the north or south, then it makes sense to stay in that place. But if you’re here to see the whole of Phu Quoc, then choose the centre to travel easily to the north and south.

So, stay in the main town of Phu Quoc Island, Duong Dong. There are many local shops, restaurants, easy bike rental places, an ATM, and opportunities to interact with locals.

Also, in the central part, you can stay in Long Beach. It is 7 km down Doung Dong. Here, you can enjoy a nice beachside hotel stay and easily walk to the beach in just a few minutes when you wake up.

Pearl Farming Experience

The most important thing not everyone knows is that Vietnam is known for its pearl farming. And they are most famous in Phu Quoc and in Ha Long Bay.

Phu Quoc is widely called Pearl Island by the locals.

Here you can find saltwater pearls. They are more valuable because of the farming time, fewer dot marks on the pearl, and they are mainly farmed in coastal areas, not in rivers or lakes.

I must say, when you are in Phu Quoc, you have to buy these beautiful pearls for yourself. It can be a necklace, rings, bangles, earrings, or bracelets.

And when you look at those pearls years from now, it will definitely bring joy and take you back in time to this exact Vietnam trip you made.

Also, you have to be careful where you are buying them. In any local street market or shop, there is a high chance you will be sold fake pearls. If you do not know much about pearls, it’s better to buy them from a pearl farming place. However, they will be priced higher due to the service and quality.

Things to Do in South Phu Quoc

Coming all the way down, the south part is most famous for its cultural attractions and, of course, the longest cable car in the world.

Even though there are accommodations and easy transfer services, the south is not the best for tourists who are here for just a few days and want to get to know Phu Quoc.

But if you like to stay isolated with no crowd, then you can stay at Sunset Town.

Sunset Town

Funnily, Sunset Town is mostly called Ghost Town. Some people even find it creepy because, at times, there are no people on the streets, and 90% of the buildings and shops are empty.

Sunset Town
Sunset Town

Just like the Grand World, this is also a made-up town, but with fewer crowds, especially during the daytime. The whole town is a poetic constraint that gives it a Mediterranean and European vibe.

If you are a photographer, model, or anyone who likes to take pictures when there are no people, you can definitely go around the streets for that.

But it’s not like there is nothing here; by evening, the people come here. And there are a few shows and shops open.
