Key Takeaways

  • For mild temperatures and manageable crowds, April to June and September to October are the best months for most of France.
  • To witness the lavender fields fully bloom, visit Provence’s Valensole in early July. If you missed that visit, Sault mid-July to early August.
  • The French Alps have two seasons. July to September for hiking and the lake visits, and January to March for skiing.
  • Even on warm days, the country’s climate can be cold for Indians in the morning and evenings. So, pack light jackets, a scarf and in winters pack more layers.
